The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) training schools set up in five districts of the province were formally inaugurated on Monday which are aimed at imparting training to people attached with food business. Director General Punjab Food Authority Noorul Ameen Mengal and Chairman Raza Hayyat Harraj inaugurated the new school.

While talking to media, Mengal said that schools have been set up in Lahore, Multan, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala and Faisalabad simultaneously. On the inaugural day, 250 people got training in all these districts while 300 people each in every district have been registered for their formal training.

The DG Food Authority further said that these people were being trained in level-1 which covers venders who transport prepared food and bakery workers. They are also trained in preparation of safe food, nutrition, principals of hygiene. He said only trained manpower would be allowed at food outlets after the passing out of a reasonable number of people from these schools.
